Mayor Of Luton Cllr Mahmood Hussain visiting local care home
Earlier this week Mayor of Luton Cllr Mahmood Hussain has visited Victoriana Care Home, which is part of Heritage Care Homes group. This was his first visit to the local care home since the beginning of pandemic. Upon his arrival the temperature check was done, and Cllr Mahmood Hussain was able to provide a covid negative test result.
He was really interested in meeting some of the residents and finding out how they are doing now and are they being well looked after. He was pleasantly surprised to hear that the husband and wife are both residents at Victoriana Care Home. Cllr Mahmood Hussain had this to say ‘Quite often you will hear stories about husband and wife who can no longer stay together so they have to be moved into different care homes, which I find absolutely heart-breaking. I am glad you accept couples and able to look after them both’
He joined Home Manager Inesa Jones, Operations Manager Sidrah Sarfraz and Area Manager Viktorija Stanciukaite for Afternoon Tea. They spoke about the pandemic struggles and how care home is managing now. They also spoke about how Luton’s has changed over the years and there are still so many areas of potential. He could not praise the care team enough and how hard they all worked during the pandemic.
Area Manager Viktorija Stanciukaite said ‘I was so impressed how lovely and down to earth Cllr Mahmood Hussain is. He is a true lutonian and his pride of being able to represent Luton and its people is simply contagious. His visit was an honour and greatly appreciated by the residents as well as the members of the team’
At the end of the visit Mayor of Luton Cllr Mahmood Hussain has signed the Guest book and left the message saying ‘It was a pleasure to visit you today and thank you very much for inviting me. I was very impressed with the care you provide for your residents’
