Edwardian and Georgiana care homes marked Remembrance Day on Thursday, November 11, where they joined the rest of the country for a one-minute silence at 11am.

As well as marking Remembrance Day by making poppies and displays out of them, care homes have organised reminiscence sessions where residents could share their memories or listen to stories what Remembrance Day means to them.Joan, a resident at Georgiana Care Home, said;

“It is so important to remember all the people that fought and died for their country.”

Amber Collins – O’Neill, Activities Lead at Georgiana Care Home, said;

“It was fascinating to hear stories of some of our residents who has some personal ties to the Remembrance Day. This was a special day for all our residents, and it was important to them, to mark this day”
