Activities Coordinator Stella said ‘This was my first Christmas at the Edwardian Care Home and I have really enjoyed making the home feel festive and ready for Christmas. It was a difficult year, so really wanted to go above and beyond to make our residents happy and lift their spirits. To promote their independence, I have helped some of our residents to go out and do their own Christmas shopping. Nothing was more satisfying than seeing our residents doing what they would usually do if they were at home getting ready for Christmas’

Wrapped up warmly few residents had an opportunity to go out and see local Christmas lights display. That was such a treat and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Resident Janet said ‘I had such a great time and the Christmas lights display just looks magical!’

All residents received Christmas goodie bags which consisted of toiletries and chocolates.

10 Days of Christmas ended with a party with loads of food and delicious personalised cake. Everyone had so much fun playing Christmas games, dancing and just simply having a good time.

Home Manager May added ‘I am so proud of my team and what they have done to our residents. They all have worked so hard and each and every one of them went extra mile to make this feel like home away from home to our residents. Hope 2021 will be full of excitement and new happy memories’
